Jeremy Roenick is right, but he used poor judgment to say it like he did.  Deep down, Roenick probably wishes he had the talent that Marleau has.  Roenick was gritty, tough, and willing to do anything to win.  Marleau has probably lost more talent than Roenick ever had.  Problem is, teams that have more Roenick's on their team than Marleau's win in the playoffs. 

The other problem for the Sharks now is that Detroit has more people with Marleau's skill combined with Roenick's heart.  That is why they can still win the series.  The Sharks are younger, faster, stronger and, and, and.. Where have we heard this before.  But not a better team.  We see this every year about this time, and guess what, every year fans scream that Marleau is the problem.  Now we are hearing it from a former player. 

Lastly, where are Marleau's teammates?  I've heard announcers shoot back at Roenick, I heard that Marleau shot back, but haven't heard anyone else, the GM, the owner, no one..

The Giants are experiencing a normal reaction after coming off such a high of wining the World Series.  How can anyone expect the team to be excited about Regular Season Baseball such a short period after experiencing the biggest challenge of their careers.

Look at what happened to the San Jose Sharks this last year.  They played the first half of the regular season like it didn't matter - the hangover effect of playing in the semi-finals the previous year.  Once the games started to matter, they got better.

I expect the Giants to hang around .500 until the middle of June.  Right about then, the hangover should be wearing off, the realization that they had better get to work will kick in, and they will start playing better.

By then, I expect Brandon Belt to be playing left field and batting sixth, the search for a serviceable SS to be ramped up and the "Real 2011 Baseball Season" to begin.

Warrior fans have been crying foul since David Lee was acquired.

Are they just too happy with losing that they are complaining about acquiring an NBA All Star without giving up one?

They gave up a former D leaguer, a backup center/forward, and a player with sooooo much potential, that he hated to practice, played one good game in three, and might not be any good until he reaches the age of 25.........Five years from now.

Way to go Warrior Fans, pay lots of your hard earned cash to watch a team that only reached the playoffs once in generation, but complain when you get a player WHO CAN PLAY!!

Giants fans, RELAX and GET REAL.  This team, (2010) is still not ready for Prime Time...  Major league players generally do not hit their prime until their late 20s to mid 30s.  Do you know what this means?  It means that the current Giants team is only going to get better.

Their pitching staff core of Lincecum, Cain, and Sanchez still has years to go before they hit their prime and they are already good pitchers.  Since they are still years away, that means that they have a couple of years at least to get or mature hitters in the minor league system, who will also grow into great players.

Remember, most good pitchers outlast good hitters.  It is easier to change your pitching style as you get older, than adjusting your hitting as you get older.  That is because hitters can't turn back the clock and adjust to fastballs as age catches up to them.

Giants fans are lucky because the NL West is so bad, that the Giants get to contend while they wait for their young stars to mature into great players. ...

How is it possible that the city of San Francisco still can't fix the financial problems at MUNI without putting the burdon on people that don't or aren't using the service. 

Why penalize the people that would rather take their car out on Sunday's rather than use the limited service schedule?

Why not FIX the problems and not throw more money at it? 

Maybe the people of San Francisco need to see where all of the money that is currently going into the MUNI fund is going.  If we can see that most of the money paid in fares and collected by meters and fines is going into the costs to run the system and not in high salaried management positions, maybe people wouldn't complain or revolt. 

It was finally great to be able to watch a 49er game this weekend without having to change the channel to see what else was on by 2:30.  Being a lifelong 49er fan (of over 30 years so yes, I remember John Brodie and Steve Spurrier, Scott Bull, etc...), I've always rooted for the team through thick and thin but this "thin" was a diet that no one should have to endure.  As a fan, all we should ask for is for a team to be entertaining, win or lose, just give us our money/time worth of entertainment. 

The last couple of years have been anything but entertaining, but at least for one week, the 2008 team looks like they will keep you in front of the TV for more than a quarter and a half.

Wow, what a weekend!!

First, I get to watch Stanford advance to the Sweet Sixteen with a gritty effort after losing their coach, and having to come from 11 down, then I get to watch the Warriors beat LA in LA for the first time in a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng time.

The Warrior game was a true test in being able to handle your emotions.  The first half had to be the best basketball I had seen the Warriors play since Sleepy Floyd single handedly beat LA in the playoffs years ago. 

The second half made me glad I didn't have anything close enough to throw at my tv.  Then just when you think you can't watch anymore, Steve Jackson hits two three pointers to win the game, after he couldn't hit water shooting from a boat in the middle of the bay the entire second half. 

All I can say though is WOW!!

While everyone is trying to "Bury" the offensive coordinator, let's look at the facts.  While the 49ers have drafted defensive players well the last few years, they have only drafted one single threat on offense.  (Frank Gore)

Look at who they've taken the last three years at the "Skilled Positions" since 2004:

WR Derrick Hamilton, 3rd round WR Rashaun Woods, 1st round TE Billy Bajema, 7th round TE Patrick Estes, 7th round WR Marcus Maxwell, 7th round WR Rasheed Marshall, 5th round RB Frank Gore, 3rd round QB Alex Smith, 1st round WR Delanie Walker, 6th round WR Michaeil Robinson, 4th round WR Brandon Williams, 3rd round TE Vernon Davis, 1st round RB Thomas Clayton, 6th round WR Jason Hill, 3rd round Quite a group.  Other than Gore, none of them would be in anyone's conversation when thinking about putting together an offensive team.  Heck, none of them other than Gore would even be higher than a 6th round pick in a Fantasy...

Nice try Alex. Pretty smart trying to get a second opinion that if confirmed your suspicions, would have kept you out for the season. Knowing that the offensive line is a career ending injury waiting to happen, it was smart of you to try to get out of the line-up until they fixed the problem. Let Trent Dilfer be the "Bulls-Eye" for opposing defensive linemen while you sit and nurse your shoulder.

Now that your injury isn't as bad as it could have been, the best thing for you to do during re-hab is to work on your "Dodge-Ball" skills so that you can Duck out of the way the next time a 300+ lb. behemoth is bearing down on you because this is going to be a lonnng season which is going to test your survival skills and elusiveness.

Well two weeks ago I said that the 2-0 start was not as good as it looked and I seem to have been vindicated by the last two stinkers they threw at us.  Now I blamed Alex Smith, or at least said that he isn't going the be the QB that takes us all the way, and now that he is hurt, (and it is not his fault that he got hurt and I do feel bad for him) he won't. 

Now back to the real problem at hand.. The 49ers aren't that good on offense period, and they weren't going into the season to begin with. 

Their QB situation was bad Their Wide Receivers are not guys that would start for any other team in the league Their Tight End hasn't proved that he can play a full season. (He can dance and promote himself, and since he drops as many as he catches, I guess he should celebrate when he does manage to hang on to one. Their Offensive line other than the Rookie is one giant piece of swiss cheese. Now I wasn't a math major, but when you add four negetives, you aren't going to get a positive..ever.
